Wheat alcohol, or wheat ethanol, is alcohol made from wheat. More specifically, the product is produced by fermenting and then distilling wheat. Wheat is a grain, and wheat alcohol is one of the most common types of grain alcohol. Our alcohol from wheat is 96% pure, and virtually odourless and tasteless, and is therefore also known as wheat neutral alcohol, grain neutral spirit (GNS) and neutral grain alcohol (NGA).
Wheat alcohol is a beloved base for distilled spirits, and vodka in particular. Wheat neutral alcohol is slightly sweeter than other types of grain alcohol, which results in a smoother-tasting drink. Besides the production of vodka and other alcoholic beverages, wheat-based alcohol is used in the production of food, cosmetics, medicine and beauty products.
