What
makes
Nedstar
different?
Diethyl phthalate
Diethyl phthalate (DEP) is a phthalate ester. It occurs as a colourless liquid without significant odour but has a bitter, disagreeable taste.
Euro denatured
Euro denaturant is a combination of MEK, IPA and Bitrex. It is a valued option in Europe because it is recognised by all European member states.
Isopropyl
Isopropyl (IPA) is a colourless, flammable chemical compound with a strong odour. It is used in the manufacture of a wide variety of industrial and household chemicals like handsanitizer or cleaning.
Bitrex
Bitrex, also known as denatonium benzoate, is the most bitter chemical compound known, with bitterness thresholds of 0.05 ppm, where 10 ppm is unbearably bitter for most humans.
TSDA
Trade Specific Denatured Alcohol (TSDA) formulations are types of denatured alcohol approved to meet specific trade needs or approved uses.
Methyl ethyl ketone
Butanone, also known as methyl ethyl ketone (MEK), is a colourless organic compound. Ketone has a sharp, sweet odour reminiscent of acetone.

Nedstar supplies high-quality IPA that meets strict industry and regulatory standards. Whether you need IPA for surface preparation, component cleaning, solvent blends or chemical production, we support your operations with consistent quality, global delivery and full documentation.
How Nedstar guarantees high product quality of ethanol
At Nedstar, quality is safeguarded through a global quality management system that covers every stage of sourcing, production, documentation and delivery. As a sourcing partner for raw materials and specialties, we work exclusively with producers who meet strict international quality, safety and sustainability standards.
Rigorous product validation
Quality starts at the source. Every ethanol supplier we work with undergoes a strict onboarding process, including certification checks and detailed product testing. Only producers who consistently meet our high purity, safety and sustainability requirements become long-term partners in our sourcing network.
Testing & quality monitoring
Before ethanol is added to our portfolio — whether ENA, anhydrous, organic or 2G — our Quality team performs in-depth evaluations to verify purity, consistency and compliance with market specifications. Throughout the year, we carry out regular batch checks and distribution reviews to identify and mitigate any potential risks before the product reaches your operations.
Dedicated quality support
From regulatory documentation and custom specifications, our Quality and Commercial teams ensure your ethanol is delivered safely, compliantly and exactly as expected. If questions arise, we offer fast, expert assistance: from analysing test results to guiding you through market-specific requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is industrial ethanol used for?
Industrial ethanol is used in the chemical industry, electronics manufacturing and the fuel and energy sector. It serves as a solvent, reactant, cleaning agent and fuel component in coatings, inks, resins, cleaners, electronics, biofuels and many other technical applications.
What is the difference between industrial ethanol and food-grade alcohol?
Food-grade neutral alcohol is suitable for human consumption and sensitive applications such as beverages, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. Industrial ethanol is used for non-food purposes and is often denatured. Industrial grades focus on technical performance and regulatory compliance for non-food markets.
Why is ethanol denatured for industrial applications?
Ethanol is denatured to make it unfit for human consumption. This supports tax requirements and prevents misuse. Denatured ethanol allows industrial users to work with ethanol as a technical solvent or fuel component while meeting the rules of local authorities and customs.
What is second-generation ethanol?
Second-generation ethanol is produced from non-food feedstocks, such as agricultural residues or waste streams. It helps reduce competition with food crops and can lower the carbon footprint of industrial processes and fuels. Nedstar offers second-generation ethanol as part of its sustainable industrial ethanol portfolio.
In which packaging formats and sizes do you supply industrial ethanol and IPA?
We supply industrial ethanol and IPA in several practical formats. For bulk deliveries, we use road tankers of roughly 25,000 to 35,000 litres and ISO tanks of about 24,000 to 26,000 litres. For smaller or more flexible volumes, we offer IBCs of around 1,000 litres and drums typically in the range of 185 to 220 litres. Our logistics team will help you select the most suitable packaging and volume for your process, storage setup and safety procedures.
Do you supply industrial ethanol with specific certifications?
Yes. Depending on the product and origin, Nedstar can supply industrial ethanol with relevant quality and sustainability certifications, such as ISO based quality management certificates, sustainability schemes for fuel ethanol and, where applicable, organic and other market-specific approvals. We also provide supporting documents like certificates of analysis and origin statements so you can meet internal quality standards and external audit requirements.
