About the role and key responsibilities

As the Commercial Manager/Trader at Nedstar, you will play a crucial role in purchasing and selling ethanol across Asian markets. Your job involves developing a unique budget and market strategy, continually searching for new sales opportunities, and expanding growth in various Asian markets. A significant aspect of your role is to cultivate beneficial business relationships with ethanol suppliers, customers, and partners throughout Asia. As part of a supportive team of commercial managers, you will engage in discussions about opportunities, confront challenges, and share innovative ideas. Supported by our outstanding logistics team, you will maximize Nedstar’s operations in your target market. Although based in Amsterdam, around 20-30% of your time will be dedicated to traveling to meet customers and suppliers in Asia.
Your responsibilities include:

  • Sustaining and enhancing relationships with existing customers and suppliers in your target markets.
  • Generating new business leads in Asian and international markets.
  • Assisting our commercial team in achieving Nedstar’s commercial objectives by solidifying our market presence and breaking into new niches.
  • Working in tandem with our logistics team to ensure smooth delivery of ethanol products to your customers.

Your profile

As a Commercial Manager at Nedstar, you are a strategic thinker and an energetic self-starter, constantly exploring new business opportunities to strengthen and broaden our market reach in Asia. You are results-driven, ambitious, and dedicated to surpassing both your personal and Nedstar’s goals. Traveling excites you, and you are comfortable engaging with young professionals in a casual yet dynamic international B2B trade environment. With your strong social intelligence and communication skills, you excel in establishing long-term relationships and finalising deals.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of Asian languages is a plus.
  • Previous relevant experience in the commercial sector.
  • Strong numeracy and critical thinking skills.
  • Persuasive and effective negotiation skills.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and precise.
  • Adaptable and sociable, skilled in building and maintaining lasting relationships.
  • A collaborative team player.
